If you decide to go the electronic filing route, here’s what you will need to be aware of and will need to prepare.
- I recommend having a computer and a phone available to help with your US Citizenship Application.
- I also recommend you install Google Drive from the iTunes or Google Play app store (both are free) on your phone.
- To file your application, you will need to create an account at https://www.uscis.gov/.
- You will need a Credit or Debit Card to pay for the filing fee.
- Once you create an account, you will likely be asked to link your phone for the two-factor authentication. Every time you attempt to log in, a message with a number will be sent to your phone or email (or in my case both places). You will need to provide that number to proceed.
- You will be asked to provide a copy of supporting documents such as a marriage certificate, selective services, a “green” card, or a driver’s license.
